On May 14, 2015, I visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the first time in my 40+ years of residing in the State of Indiana. I had the opportunity to witness at first hand, “The Track Experience!”.
I will say that it was truly overwhelming for me. I have visited 1/4 mile tracks in other cities…But a 2 mile track…Never!!!!
A track soo large that it is visibly impossible to see all of its activity…..You may listen and Watch monitors which will alert you as the cars are forthcoming. The naked eye can only capture for a brief moment as they pass by with speeds of 220 MPH +…. Almost just a snapshot.
I share with you a day shared with friends of the excitement of pre-trial qualifications, Pit and Garage Access, and the aftermath of one of the unfortunate crashes that took place.
